K25525
Soot Levels in Diesel Engine Oils, Portable Meter
The Portable Soot Meter is a hand-held, battery operated diagnostic tool that
measures soot concentration levels in diesel engine lubricating oil up to 10%
and higher – without sample preparation or solvents. It has been specifically
designed for fleet operators, transit authorities, service stations,
construction sites, preventative maintenance personnel, or anyone that needs
easy, on-site soot measurements to enable them to know exactly when to change
the lubricating oil. It is based on the same field-proven infrared technology
that is utilized in the K25500 Soot Meter. Measurement results are shown on
digital display in less than one minute. Wipe the sensor clean with absorbent
paper towel, and the unit is ready to apply the next used oil sample. The
Portable Soot Meter weighs less than 2 lbs. and is powered by four
replaceable “AA” batteries providing power for approximately 1000 tests. It
is factory calibrated to measure soot levels as high as 10% or higher with an
accuracy of within 0.5%.
A laboratory model soot meter is also available (K25500).
